The Department of Bioengineering welcomed new Assistant Professor Khadija Zaidi this fall. “There are all these movements and delicate balances, and wanting to study more of that led me to the intersection between biology, or the natural world, and mathematics. That's what brought me to bioengineering,” she said.

A study led by bioengineering professor Giorgio Ascoli has received $250,000 in funding from the U.S. Department of Energy. The project will make use of a massive open-source repository called Hippocampome maintained by Ascoli’s lab.
