Graduate Association of Bioengineering Students (GABS)

The Graduate Association of Bioengineering Students (GABS) is a registered student organization (RSO) at George Mason University dedicated to creating a supportive community where graduate-level members can be actively engaged in. On that note, a closer look at the missions and values follows.

Our mission fosters collaboration not only with faculty, but also with industry professionals. In addition to building a bridge between students and the bioengineering department, we aim to expand opportunities both within and beyond the university. We also prioritize creating a supportive atmosphere for social interaction and mental well-being.

Our values reflect what we stand for as an organization:

  • Community Support

  • Creativity and Innovation

  • And last but not least, all-inclusive diversity

We strive to create a welcoming environment where ideas are shared, collaboration is cultivated, and growth happens together.

One of our significant achievements is organizing the annual Bioengineering Networking Force Event (BNFE), a premier gathering that connects students, faculty, and industry leaders. BNFE serves as a platform for networking, collaboration, and showcasing cutting-edge research in bioengineering.
